Qiana Jacobs is the Pastry Chef at Davio’s Atlanta where you must always save room for dessert. Qiana celebrates her one year anniversary at Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse at Phipps Plaza this month. Jacobs was born and raised in upstate New York and moved to Georgia with her family as a teenager. In 2001, she graduated from the Scottsdale Culinary Institute at the top of her class.
“It makes me happy to see people enjoying the food I create. It’s an opportunity to affect people’s sensations. And I get a kick out of it!” Her expertise in the handling and manipulation of liquid nitrogen for food applications has become one of her favorite ways to create new menu items for guests. She has been known make 20 gallons of ice cream in about 45 seconds with nitro alone.
When not at Davio’s, Jacobs enjoys swimming, hiking and making organic therapeutic soaps. Ironically, she does not have a sweet tooth and prefers dining out for Vietnamese food or sipping on a bloody Mary at the bar. Jacobs currently resides in downtown Atlanta with her newly wed husband.
