Size and luxury matter once again
With more than a century representing the American auto scene as its most extravagant carmaker, Cadillac’s all-new 2016 CT6 has seamlessly applied state-of-the-art technology into the sleek physique of a large luxury sedan—a revisited body type that once dominated its fleets decades ago.
The head-turning CT6 is nothing short of its full-size classification and generously spacious, yet boasts remarkable agility to separate itself from competitors due to its lower body’s lightweight, 13 high-pressure aluminum castings; state-of-the-art Active Chassis System, all-wheel drive maneuverability. Available in three different engine options, our welcomed 335-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 heart provided the necessary muscle for aggressive lane changing and power surges when needed. The 360-degree camera view based on the signature CUE screen, wireless phone charging port, an OnStar 4G LTE system complete with a Wi-Fi hotspot, a Quadzone climate system, plus an HDMI and USB port for rear passengers were just a few of the amenities to emphatically warrant the “luxury” claim.
At a base price of $63,570, this review model was enhanced by numerous upgrades including the Driver Assist Package (adaptive cruise control, enhanced night vision for $4,380); concert-rivaling BOSE Panaray® 34-speaker sound system exclusively made for the CT6 ($3,700); an Active Chassis Package featuring magnetic ride control and glistening 20-inch aluminum wheels ($3,300); Comfort Package for premium, temperature-controlled seating throughout the cabin ($900); and special, stealthy Dark Adriatic Blue Metallic exterior ($995) completed this yacht on wheels.
