Join Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities (ARMHC) for dinner in September and eat out throughout Brookhaven and Buckhead all month long! Brookhaven Dines Out is a series of benefit nights at neighboring eateries and restaurants in the Buckhaven area. A percentage of all sales on scheduled days will benefit the families served at Atlanta’s two Ronald McDonald Houses. Join ARMHC for their kick-off party on August 23 at Vero Pizzeria! Tangerine Tango

Join the Atlanta Community Food Bank and their talented event committee for the third annual Tangerine Tango Fashion Show. The event will be held Monday, September 13, from 5:30­ – 7:30 p.m. at Bloomingdales inside Lenox Square. This night of food and fashion will help raise funds to assist the Food Bank’s hunger relief efforts in greater Atlanta and north Georgia. One in five Georgians struggle with hunger, but with your help, the Atlanta Community Food Bank can provide food for more than 600 partner agencies in 29 Georgia counties to help those in need. The event will also highlight September as Hunger Action Month, a nationwide awareness campaign to mobilize communities. Healthy Saturday

BuckHaven Lifestyle, DecisionPoint and Welstar are hosting the first annual Alpharetta/Johns Creek Community Health Day to take place on Saturday, September 17 at DecisionPoint Wellness Center. Vendors from the area will be coming out to show support. In addition, there will be lots of fun, free activities for kids and adults, and BIG raffle drawings. All proceeds will be given to local charity, Bert’s Big Adventure. There will be an emphasis on healthy lifestyle for all members of the family.  For those who don’t know, BBA is a non-profit organization that takes children, suffering from various long-term illnesses, AND their families to Disney for a week, ALL expenses paid!  The joy this trip brings to these families in insurmountable. Northside Honor

Northside Hospital in Atlanta has earned The Joint Commission’s (TJC) Gold Seal of Approval® for Lung Cancer Disease Specific Care (DSC) Certification. Northside is the first hospital in Georgia, and only the 6th hospital in the United States, to receive DSC Certification for Lung Cancer from TJC. Northside received the two-year certification after undergoing a voluntary and rigorous on-site evaluation, demonstrating compliance with nationally developed standards for lung cancer care. “This certification is a direct result of the unsurpassed expertise, hard work and commitment by the board-certified physicians, specially trained nurses and other health care professionals who make up Northside’s Lung Cancer Program,” says Patti Owen, MN, RN, director, Northside Hospital Cancer Institute.

Marlow’s Coming Soon

Brookhaven will soon welcome the newest location of Marlow’s Tavern, Atlanta’s favorite neighborhood tavern. Construction is already underway for the October opening. Accessible Art at Phipps

Join Atlanta’s newest gallery for a grand opening celebration, September 15, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.  Carré d’artistes is a chain of art galleries with locations all over the world including Paris, Istanbul, and New York. Polo Plans

The 2016 Polo in the Pines Honorees are Lacey Johnson Wilkinson and Matthew Willis (pictured). The event will light up the Atlanta Polo Club on October 8 benefiting CURE Childhood Cancer. Since the inaugural event in 2012, Polo in the Pines has raised nearly $250,000 with a mission to fund specific cancer research, promote awareness and family support and will again benefit CURE. The elegant Saturday all-day event features polo matches, gourmet dining, crafted Southern cocktails, a silent auction and dancing. Stem Cell Therapy for Pets

The Veterinary Center of Buckhead (VCB) is located in the heart of Buckhead and is under the direction of Dr. Lance Hirsh. Dr. Hirsh works alongside Dr. Kroll and Dr. Jenkins as well as many other dedicated animal professionals at VBC. VCB is a full-service veterinary clinic offering several services including stem cell therapy, dental cleaning, preventative healthcare, surgery and boarding services. VBC is one of the only veterinary clinics in the Southeast that provides stem cell therapy to its patients. Since starting stem cell therapy two years ago, Dr. Hirsh has seen a 90% improvement in his patients that have used the therapy for several different types of treatment.
