We have a busy month, and know you do, too.
The warmer weather means we will be cycling, running, paddling, skating, hiking and walking more outdoors along our favorite rivers and routes. Need fuel? Our friends at Peachtree Roadies share their go-to juices, bars and power snacks in the ‘hood. That’s Meg and Kelly on the cover, running along Peachtree St. in Buckhead. Read their latest antics on their fitness and lifestyle blog, PeachtreeRoadies.com.
Hit the road or hit up one of the gyms Alexa Lampasona reviewed on page 28. She tells us about cool programs and classes that will provide plenty of variety. No excuses now. Feel fit from head to toe and dip into a nearby spa for a facial…or more! Valerie Shepherd’s story on being smart about facials and facelifts will give you confidence as you book a treatment. Then, when you are looking and feeling your best, grab a plus-one and a fancy hat or gown and support one of our favorite charities.
Lifestyle Publications is proud to be sponsoring two very important events this month. The 51st tux or gown running of the Atlanta Steeplechase will benefit Bert’s Big Adventure and tickets are still available for the April 23 party. Bert’s Big Adventure is a nonprofit that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World® for children between the ages of 5 and 12 with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families. Talk about magic! We hope to see you there and will be strolling through the party tent and around the steeplechase course looking for our favorite hat. Wear yours and we’ll snap your photo for our Good Times pages!
Then, on April 30, we’ll gather at the Delta Flight Museum to celebrate survivors, fighters and their families at the American Cancer Society Hope Ball, honoring our friend Jeff Wigbels, who battled and beat stage four non-smokers lung cancer. You can win tickets to join us at the sponsors table by going to our website, BuckhavenLifestyle.com, and entering then follow the link to donate what you can to support research, education and support for people fighting cancer right here in your Atlanta community. Read about Jeff’s persistence and targeted cancer treatment on page 16.
Keep it fresh this month and post your fitness endeavors on our Facebook or Instagram pages!
